Neurofeedback is a non-invasive way to help train the brain to be more relaxed, calm, alert, and focused. It can be used to support conditions like ADHD , Anxiety , Depression , PTSD , Concussion , Stress-Related Disorders , and Burnout. How do you decide what clinic is right for you? In this article, we will discuss some criteria that should be on your checklist to make the right decision.
Thorough Intake and Assessment

All of our clients are unique individuals with unique backgrounds, developmental histories, life events, and experiences. To best understand your case and make meaningful recommendations, it is best to find a clinic with a doctoral level clinician, preferably one who understands the connections between brainwaves and psychology. It is essential for the clinician to review your case and conduct a Quantitative Electroencephalogram (QEEG) assessment. The combination of these assessments allows us to make a personalized program to maximize your training and support.
Board Certification
Neurofeedback is a unique therapy that requires additional training and expertise. Usually in a Neurofeedback Clinic, the Doctoral Level Clinician is Board Certified in Neurofeedback (BCN Accreditation) and he/she trains their staff to uphold the standards from the Board Certification International Alliance BCIA. Not only is Dr. Muller Board Certified in Neurofeedback , both Directors are Neuropotential Clinics are Board Certified in Neurofeedback. We are proud to have Dr. Muller representing our team with his 33 years of experience in Clinical Psychology and multiple additional accreditations.
Technology

Neurofeedback is a very technical intervention that requires state-of-the-art hardware and software to ensure you are getting the most value from the experience. Most clinics use a wet-cap system that requires gel and paste to be applied at 19 different sites on the scalp to ensure conductivity. This can be uncomfortable for some and you have to go home to take a shower after your session. At Neuropotential Clinics, we have invested in wireless, dry-electrode systems that do not require any gel or paste to set up and execute your treatment plan. Our clients say the convenience and comfort really helps them get more out of their sessions with less frustration.
Training Time Per Session
To ensure you are getting the most out of your sessions, the amount of training time you get per session is crucial. Wet-electrode systems can take between 15 to 20 minutes to set up, which only allows for 15-20 to minutes of training, followed by a 10 minute procedure to remove gel and paste from your scalp before you leave. With our Dry-Electrode systems we can reduce set up time to 5 to 7 minutes, allowing for 35-40 minutes for training, and a 10-second clean up process for the client when we remove the cap. That is almost double the training than a wet-cap system for a 50 minute session. This reduction in setup and clean up time allows you to get more training down within the hour while still maintaining safety standards.
State of the Art Clinic
The location where you complete your training should be welcoming and make you feel safe. We have a 2500 square foot facility with 13 foot ceilings that feels spacious and inviting. Clients can park in the 5 floors of our parking garage and enter the clinic from the regular building entrance or our separate side entrance above the parking garage. We are located a short walk from Sheppard West subway station and just minutes from the 401. Please check out our 360 degree tour to visit the clinic from the comfort of your home.
What are Clients Saying?

A Neurofeedback Clinic can have all the bells and whistles, but it is most important that clients are seeing a change in their quality of life. The best way to spot a great clinic is their reviews. Testimonials can be misleading, but a reliable review requires a client to login to a 3rd party website to post their experience. Each review is tied to a unique email address and needs to be verified. Google Reviews are one of the most, if not the most reliable way people make decisions for services. We are thrilled that Neuropotential Clinics is the highest rated Neurofeedback Clinic according to Google Reviews. Click here to check out what people are saying about us!

We hoped that you have learned more about what makes a Neurofeedback clinic great and are more informed when you are making a decision about yourself or your loved ones.
