Reach Your Brain’s Full Potential Through Peak Performance Training

Has there ever been a time where you did something well but felt like you could have done it better? Have you ever thought about what separates elite performance from average performance? Perhaps you lost your train of thought during a test which lead you to receiving an A- instead of an A, or maybe you lost a tennis match because you were unable to keep your cool under stressful conditions? Regardless of the situation you are in, your concentration, calmness, and resilience are constantly being tested. Luckily, there are options to improve your performance.

The zone of optimal functioning and flow, better known as peak performance, is a state where an individual is “in the zone” and is able to achieve exceptional performance. When you are in this state it is easier to be calm, alert, concentrate, regulate emotions, and move forward from mistakes. This can lead to you feeling more confident and productive no matter what the challenge or obstacle is ahead of you. How can we achieve this state more often? Some people use meditation, mindfulness, or coaching techniques to achieve this state, but how can you be sure you have entered the zone? This is where Peak Performance Training can help.

Peak performance training offers new ways to optimize performance and gain overall well-being. Some methods of peak performance include individual athletic training, nutritional strategies, and neurofeedback. Neurofeedback (also known as EEG-Biofeedback) is a non-invasive treatment which helps regulate electrical brainwave activity and train your brain to be more calm, relaxed, focused, and alert. This type of training allows for the strengthening of healthy brainwave patterns which may help transform average performance into elite performance. We monitor your brainwaves in real time and as soon as you demonstrate calm, relaxed, and alert brainwave patterns we reward you with video and sound. Through practice, this non-invasive method can help you understand what it feels like to be in the zone.

Targeting brainwave patterns related to emotional regulation, working memory, and focus are very common for this type of neurofeedback training, but it is not a “one size fits all” approach. To obtain optimal results from peak performance neurofeedback training, an individual should complete an EEG or qEEG assessment. Electroencephalogram (EEG) and quantitative electroencephalogram (qEEG) are monitoring methods used to record electrical activity in the brain. The EEG assessment records electrical patterns at the scalp’s surface which reflects cortical activity, also known as brainwaves. The qEEG is similar to the EEG but it uses more surface electrodes and gathers data from more brain areas which allows us to create a “brain map.” In addition to the EEG/qEEG assessment, you should meet with a professional, trained in Neurofeedback in order to evaluate your brainwave activity. Based on the findings, an individualized training plan should be created to cater to the person’s specific needs.
